Last year my brother Jack graduated from college with his bachelor's degree from William Patterson University. My family was really excited and my parents went to the graduation and celebrated with him after the ceremony. Little did they know that not only did he graduate that day but would later be surprising his girlfriend with a proposal that night!
You guys, I'm moving to Raleigh in less than two weeks! I am beyond excited because I've been wanting to move for months and the timing never seemed to work. I have a full time job and the lease on my apartment isn't up until August. I knew that I didn't want to break the lease but I also knew that if I wanted to move before it ended, I needed to have a full time job established in Raleigh.
Hey friends! So.. as you may have noticed, I haven't written on my blog in almost a year. Which is just a little bit ridiculous. I've been wanting to write for months but I never really knew what to write about. I've always struggled with what topics to write about on my blog and the last few months have probably been the hardest. When I was photographing weddings it was easy because the wedding would be the content - how I got this shot or that shot, or tips for brides. Well, other than second shooting and photographing my brother's wedding, I haven't photographed a wedding in at least a year.
I've been in my new place apartment for about a month now and am finally getting completely settled. So, over the next few months I want to start decorating and making it feel more like my home. One of the things that I love most about this place is the balcony. I couldn't use my patio at my last place because there were always wasps or bees flying everywhere so I'm excited that I have one I can actually use now! It's the perfect size for a small set and I've been looking all over the internet for ideas on how to make it cozy. Here's what I love best and will probably do!
Over the weekend I was cleaning up and ran across my portfolio boxes from college. I'd forgotten just how long I hadn't opened them so I decided to check it out and see what I even still had. I was surprised because one box is FULL of negative film strips and the other is filled with hundreds of prints! As I was going through my prints I found some from I project that I had to do. The project was that we had to choose a topic/place/person and create a cohesive work out of it.
